Obituary For Harold Motley

Funeral service for Mr. Harold James Spencer Motley will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2019 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. Johns St., Florence. Interment will follow in Florence National Cemetery, with Veterans Honor Guard, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Mr. Harold James Spencer Motley, son of the late Samuel Joseph and Francis Montague Motley was born May 8, 1945 in Jeterville,Virginia. He passed into eternal rest on Sunday, December 15, 2019.

As a young man, Harold joined the United States Armed Forces and served his country during the Vietnam War. In 1978, Harold relocated to Forestville, Maryland and started a career as a professional truck driver with Yellow Freight Trucking Company.Harold was dedicated to his job and took pride in his work, working long hours and driving locally.

Harold was joined in marriage August 5, 2000 to Yanestra Graham Motley, his soul mate, after having met in 1989.

Harold had a great love for his wife and children. He was a man of few words with a heart of gold, a refreshing smile and a calm spirit.

Harold leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Yanestra Graham-Motley of the home, three children, Antionette King of Waldrof, Maryland, Simone Of Columbia, Maryland, Levarr of Kennesaw, Georgia, and one son-in-law, Joe King of Waldrof, Maryland; four grandsons; four granddaughters; two brothers, Billy of Cleveland, Ohio and Edward of Fredericksburg, Virginia; three sisters, Shirley and Brenda both of Summerville, New Jersey, and Rose of Orlando, Florida; a mother-in-law, Bethenia Graham of Clio, South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Leslie Graham of Darlington, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Betty Blake of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 633 Heathwood Dr., Darlington.
