Obituary For Mr. Corenthus Jesse Street, Jr

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Corenthus Jesse Street Jr on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 12 noon at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 from 12-7 PM at Grissom-Clark Funeral Home. Corenthus Jesse Street, Jr was born on August 17, 1944 in Vienna, Georgia. He was the second of five children born to the late Mr. Corenthus Jesse Street, Sr and Mrs. Mildred Stubbs Street who both preceded him to their heavenly home in 2009, respectively.

Corenthus a.k.a “Bro,” was raised in Cordele, Georgia with his family. At an early age, he joined Saint Paul Presbyterian Church where his mother and other family members were very active members.

He started his education in Crisp County Public School System and graduated from A.S. Clark High School. After completing high school, Corenthus, Jr. began college at Fort Valley State University where he graduated with a degree in Political Science.

Entering the military, Corenthus began basic training at Fort Jackson in the United States Army. He trained as a drill sergeant and also served in Vietnam War before being honorably discharged. After serving in the military, he worked for United States Postal Service where he retired as a Postal Supervisor.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Deloris Owens, where they remained married until his death. Corenthus loved a good joke, sports and especially the Dallas Cowboys.

Besides being preceded in death by his father and mother, Corenthus was also preceded in death by his daughter, Monique Street and step-son, Ronnie Ryans.

He is survived by his wife Deloris Owens Street; sisters, Barbara Street White (Andrew) and Marietta Street Shannon; brothers, Gerald B. Street (Gloria) and Frederick Street (Kathy); grandson, Christian Ryans; brother-in-law, Joseph Owens; one uncle, James Stubbs and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends www.grissom-clarkfh.com

Mr.Street was a Postal supervisor at the Crown Road plant I had the pleasure of working with him as part of my staff. He was a warm, caring and kind person who went about his work in professional manner. He proved to be a very valuable asset to me and the USPS.
