Obituary For Mrs. Ernestine Padgett

Mrs. Ernestine (Tine) Tucker Padgett, 79 transitioned from earthly life to eternal rest on January 1, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ann Padgett; her parents the late Elmore Tucker, Jr. and Mary Nelson Tucker Harris; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Tucker.

She attended William Penn High School class of 1958. Ernestine was a devout Christian that loved the Lord. She touched many with her smile, her conversation, her faith and her famous sweet potato pies.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Edward Padgett of 60 years; two sons, Tony Maurice Padgett of Humble, TX and Gerald Anthony Padgett of High Point, NC; one grandson, Tony Padgett, Jr., of Humble, TX; one sister, Annie T. Boyd of High Point, NC; two brothers, Lawrence (Rachel) Tucker of High Point, NC and Julius Tucker of Greensboro, NC; one sister-in-law, Gloria Y. Strickland of High Point, NC; her best friend, Frank (Coon) Dorsette.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Rev. F. O. Bass, Jr. eulogist. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
