Obituary For Mr. Willie J Cross

Funeral Service for Mr. Willie James Cross 72, of Unadilla, GA will be held Saturday January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the Forest Chapel Baptist Church, Pinehurst Georgia .Interment in the Walnut Cemetery Unadilla. Final rites have been entrusted to Coes Funeral Home Unadilla , GA.

Mr. Willie James Cross was born on November 12th, 1947 and departed this life on December 30th, 2019 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, GA. Willie James was born into the union of the late Mr. Sammie J. Cross and Mrs. Ethel Cross, of their 16 surviving children Willie James was their first born son. Willie James grew up and was educated in the Dooly County public school system. He set a good example as a hard worker and his employment history included working for Gold Kist, Inc., Pepsi, Kmart, and he worked as a farmer. He found the most enjoyment being self-employed as a landscaper/gardener. Willie was the patriarch and had a strong presence in our family. Willie James was preceded in death by his siblings, Martha, Eddie James, and Sallie Cross. He is survived by 12 siblings; Louise, Dorothy, and Gloria Cross all of Unadilla, GA; Annie Ruth Key and Mary Cross of Cordele, GA; Doretha Lester and Charlie James Cross of Hawkinsville, GA; Belinda Cross of Dawson, GA; Kenneth and Terry Cross of Atlanta, GA; and Betty Haskin and John Cross of Lakeland, FL; He also leaves behind one aunt, Mrs. Annie King, a special sister-in-law, Lisa Lester and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends including Eunice McKenzie, Henry Wheeler, His village was truly large and loving.
