Quenton Bertran “Ment” Pittman (60) was born on July 13, 1959 in Tylertown, MS to the late Delos Pittman and Burnette Young Pittman. He departed this life on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
At an early age, Quenton became a member of First Mt. Bethel M.B. Church, He attended West Marion High School, and became employed at the age of 19 with an offshore company. Quention worked tirelessly with the offshore company until a work injury forced him to leave. However, he didn’t stop there; he became an entrepreneur and started his own trucking company, Q-Pitt Trucking.
Quenton, affectionately known by family and friends as “Ment” touched many lives in the trucking industry, as well as in his personal life. As he passed through life’s journey, he encountered many people; greeting them with a smile, a kind word, and often a solid word of advice.
Quenton was preceded in death by his father, Delos Pittman; his mother, Burnette Young Pittman; sister, Glenda Pittman; and brother, Quinn Pittman.
Quenton is survived by his children: Rindus (Amanda Kay) Pittman of Gonzales, LA, Jeremy (Shakara) Alford; of Monroe, LA; Whitley Hill of Pensacola, FL, Justin Pittman of Foxworth, MS, Kaydence and Lakelynn Pittman of Columbia, MS; grandchildren: Kylah Pittman, Khloie Pittman and Kamryn Pittman, Nova Montgomery and Navi Reynolds, Antronese Alford, Jeremiah Alford and Jeremi Alford; siblings: Vella Brumfield of Baton Rouge, LA, Irey Joe(Lynn) Pittman of Saucier, MS, Sharon Daniels of Columbia, MS, Lovie(Ellis) Boone of Houston, TX, Bruce Pittman of Huston, TX, Lahoma (Joseph) Morgan, Jr. of Lena, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many friends.
