Obituary For Borden Michael “Mikey” Michael "Mikey" Artis, Jr.

Mr. Borden Michael “Mikey” Artis Jr., 37, died January 10, 2020. Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Jesus instructed his Angels to transfer Borden Michael Artis, Jr. on Friday, January 10,2020 to his forever home in Heaven. Mikey, as he was so affectionally called, was born on April 15, 1982 to Borden Michael Artis, Sr. and Wanda Wilson Coles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Manx and Viola Artis (Catherine Artis), Joseph and Cora Wilson. Five uncles, David Clark, Billy Artis, Johnathan Artis, Tommy J. Wilson and Peter Wilson. He attended John Motley Morehead High School, Eden, North Carolina. He was employed for Shipman’s Family Care, Reidsville, North Carolina. Mikey was a very happy person that lived life his way. He had a love for people that was so unmeasurable. He had a heart of gold and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whenever you saw him, he greeted you with a smile on his face. He loved to joke around and make people laugh. Mikey loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories his fiancée, Annie Hopper of the home. Mother, Wanda W. Nieces; My’Khal Artis, Tameya Artis-Stokes, Taneia & Tynasia Walker. Nephews; Keimari and Zy’Keilyn Smith. Uncles; Elder Percy Wilson (Peggy) Gilbert Wilson (Kim), Melvin Wilson (Shirleen) Antonio Wilson, Ronnie Artis (Vonzella), Wayne Artis (Denise). Aunts; Coley Simmons, Sallie Hawkins (James), Jerline Tinsley (Cleophus), Glenda Giles (Quintin) Lonia Artis, Ester Artis, Josephine Rush, Gladys Middleton, Georgia Rice, Cosandra Short, Shirley Mazone. Special sisters, Loren Casey and Crystal King. Special brothers, Gregory Hampton, Toma Siddle, and William Murphy. A host of other family, special cousins and friends.

Haven't seen anyone in the family in a long time. I knew them all well at one time. Before I moved here I met him through family ! Friends we were! Never left the driveway just chilled in that van. In sure the road home was long but you made it. PRAYING FOR YOUR FAMILY!
