Obituary For Charles Mallet, Jr.

PORT BARRE – Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity M.B.C., 5530 Van Fleet St., Houston, TX for Mr. Charles Mallet, Jr. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home, 907 N. Market Street, Opelousas, LA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 417 Saizan St., Port Barre, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Charles Mallet Jr. respectfully known as “Totan” entered eternal rest at home on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. He was born on October 9, 1946 to Charles Mallet Sr. and Annabelle Pickens Mallet. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Houston, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force and was employed at Harris County Constable Office Precinct 7 until retirement.

Survivors include his wife Janet Mallet of Pearland, TX; two sons, Donald Pickney and Dwayne Fontenot of Opelousas, LA; Daughters, LaTrecia Mallet of Pearland, TX; Donnica Pickney of Broussard, LA; Dieadra Cains (Ivory) of Opelousas, LA; Marquita Thomas of Cassatt, SC; Antoinette Davis of San Diego, CA; Danielle Mallet of Houston, TX; a brother, Wilfred Mallet of Opelousas, LA; two godchildren, Carolyn Jefferson and Angel Pickney, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of relatives, friends & family.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Mallet Sr. and Annabelle Mallet “Kine”; brother, Paul Mallet “Monsey”; maternal grandmother, Alzina Pickens and his maternal grandfather Octave Pickens; and grandson Donte’ Oliphant.
