I had known Mr. Johnson for a while as I met him when I was in High School playing in different bands playing percussion instruments. He was quite a musician, musical director, choral director and orchestra leader. Cliff W. Terrell

I met Mr. & Mrs. Johnson while I was studying at Paine College. The Johnsons invited my room mate Janua and I to attend church with them. Every Sunday, faithfully, they would collect us for church and hosted us to dine with them. They became our surrogate parents. Mr. Johnson made sure that I participated in the choir at Elim Baptist. Any opportunity to sing and participate he found a way to include me and coached me along the way as well. Throughout my college life, they provided support, guidance, and counselling. They opened their hearts and homes to us. The Johnsons, demonstrated true Christian love. The Johnsons remained an intricate part of my life. On visits to Augusta my husband and daughter were able to meet and spend time with the Johnsons. Recently, a conversation I had with Mr. Johnson he fondly recalled that both my children play an instrument. He insisted that I continue to encourage them to perfect their skill. During our lengthy conversation, I asked him about natural medicine. He said, that he was just going to allow the good Lord to have His way. While I am saddened that he is gone, I hold dear to the precious memories. May his soul rest in peace. To Elaine, Cindy and all the family please have our deepest sympathy.
