Obituary For McKinley "Cowboy" Pruitt Jr.

MR. McKINLEY “COWBOY” PRUITT, JR.- AGE 87, - of Cartersville, GA was born on June 24, 1932 and passed away Friday, January 17, 2020. He was the son of the late McKinley Pruitt, Sr. and Martha Robinson Pruitt. He retired from Old Mill Farm after thirty years. McKinley joined Pine Grove A. M. E. Church at an early age and later attended Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church. McKinley met and married the love of his life, Elsie Marie Ellis on June 25, 1964. He was preceded in death by three infant children, a son, Carlton Morgan, two brothers, Billy Pruitt, Jerome Pruitt, granddaughter, Hilary Hobbs, nephew, McKinley (Kenny) Pruitt, and son-in-law, Douglas Tatum.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Pastor Elsie Ellis Pruitt; daughters, Kimmie Wade, Regina Tatum, and Aretha (Cedric) McClure; son, McKinley Pruitt, III, godson, Billy Wright; six grandchildren, Misty Stephens, LaToya Stephens, O’Neal(Chariah) Hendricks Jr. , Heidi Hobbs, McKenze, and McKinley Pruitt, IV; great grandchildren, Kelsei Ross, Skylar, Shanning, Shamar, Skarlett Hendricks, and Mariah Brown; nephew, Dwight Pruitt; cousins, Mary Alice Young, Reona and Gary Belcher; and brothers-in-law, Elder Elmer ( Eloise) Ellis, Willie, Braynard Ellis; other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. McKinley “Cowboy” Pruitt, Jr. will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Cartersville First Baptist Church, 241 Douthit Ferry Rd, Cartersville, GA 30120 with Pastor Gabrador Milligan, presiding and Pastor Randy Livsey as Eulogist. On Friday, January 24, 2020 the family will receive friends at the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1 Mount Olive St., Cartersville, GA 30120, from 5:30 - 7:30 P. M. Interment is at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., 2011 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, Georgia.
