Obituary For Lavern Lewis

Lavern Nukirk "Kool" Lewis, 74, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Dr. Michael Cloer, officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Way back many years ago in Rocky Mount Mr. Nukirk Lewis & I both drove GM vehicles- his car was a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 & mine is a 1970 GS 455 Buick. Both cars were the exact same color both inside & out. Also remembering him when he worked for thr Rocky Mount Police department. Also, the year that he graduated from Swift Creek was the year I became a freshman. Respect for all that have gone through the high school gauntlet at Swift Creek High School. Long live the memory of Mr. Lavern Nukirk Lewis - Vietnam War Veteran.
