Lonell Spencer, Sr. was born on January 28, 1949 to the union of the late Alonzo Spencer, Sr., and Lillian Nelson in Columbia, MS. Lonell join John the Baptist Church at a young age and continued his service for the Lord until his health failed.

Lonell attended John J. Jefferson and graduated from there in 1968. Lonell was united in holy matrimony with Sherry McFarland in December 1976. To their union two children were born: Christy and Lonnie, Jr. He was self-employed Brick Mason.

Lonell was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Spencer; parents, Alonzo Spencer, Sr. and Lillian Nelson; brother, Henry Spencer; sister, Eloise Spencer; mother-in law, Ella Lee McFarland; brother-in-law’s, La Vern McFarland and Major McFarland; and sister, JoAnn Brent. Lonell departed this life on Friday, January 10, 2020.

The memories of Lonell will linger with his son Lonell Spencer, Jr. his daughter, Christy Spencer; two brothers Levell (Brenda) Spencer and Alonzo Spencer, Jr.; one sister, Lillie (Harry) Magee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
