Ms. Nell Lee Brown was born on November 21, 1938 in Bay Minette, Alabama to the union of William Brown and Irene Monroe Atchinson Brown.
Ms. Brown confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and united with New Hope Baptist Church. She was educated in the Baldwin County Schools and was a graduate of Baldwin County High School. Nell was employed with Standard Furniture in Bay Minette before relocating to the Talladega community.
On the evening of Thursday, January 23, 2020, Nell traded time for eternity at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. She was preceded in passing by her parents, William and Irene Brown; four sisters, Josephine Deeds, Minnie Pearl Jones, Rannie Mae Johnson and Arlaine Atchinson; and three brothers, Jimmie Atchinson, David Atchinson and Andy Atchinson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Mary Nell Brown of Shreveport, Louisiana; six sons, Harold (Delores) Brown of Talladega, AL, Maurice (Sylvia) Brown of Gulf Shores, AL, James Brown, William Brown and Michael Brown of Talladega, AL and Charles (Yolanda) Brown of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren, Monique V. Brown Miller, Shunta Gaither, Lakeisha Gaither, Kirby Brown, James Brown, Jr. and Jeremy Brown; three great grandchildren, X’Zavion Brown, Natavious Brown and Syncere Brown; and two great-great grandchildren, Zakylin Brown and Kingsley Brown; one brother, William (Deborah) Brown, Jr. of Houston, Texas; a special caregiver and friend, Beverly Hardie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
