Obituary For Sister Carrie H. Godfrey

Ms. Carrie Godfrey, of Sneads, Florida, entered into eterenal rest on Friday, January 24th in Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 72 years old.

Carrie was of the Baptist faith and an active member of Sylvania Missionary Baptist Church.

She retired from Jackson County School at Sunland as a paraprofessional.

She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain with her devoted family: her children, Sherry Borders and Sharon Williams both of Greenwood, Florida; two sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Jeanette Myrick both of Marianna, Florida; six brothers, Willie Lee Godfrey of Greenwood, Florida, David Godfrey and wife Shirley of Marianna, Florida, Jerry Godfrey and wife Tina of Chattahoochee, Florida, Earnest Godfrey Jr., Kenneth Godfrey both of Sneads, Florida and Kelvin Godfrey of Tallahassee, Florida, eight grandchildren, Eric Holmes, Callie Boyd, Shantel Lindsay, Jeff Bell Jr., Lashawna Godfrey, Ashante Moore, Jakeena Borders and Jakayla Williams; ten great grandchildren, Eric and Chase Holmes, Sh’riyha and Sherrick Williams, Omari Jackson, Braylon and Amanda Godfrey, Tre'vonte Walker, Jay’ceon Moore and Treyvion Hogan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held Monday, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Eddie Bowers is pastor, and Pastor Joseph Jackson, Pastor Dennis Libert, and Rev. Dr. Nelson Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
