Obituary For Raymond Stevenson

Mr. Raymond Lewis Stevenson was born September 24, 1954 to the late Willie Stevenson, Sr. and Creola Stover Stevenson in Liberty Hill, South Carolina. He into eternal rest Monday, January 27, 2020.

Raymond accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cedar rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Raymond was a graduate of Lancaster High School. Raymond retired from Springs industries as a shift supervisor.

Raymond was married to Alma Barnes Stevenson. Raymond was preceded in death by two siblings Vivian Stevenson and Ada Belle Peyton.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Alma B. Stevenson; one son, Rev. Mondray D. Stevenson (Vonda); one daughter, Amy S. Benson; two grandsons, Nickolas D. Stevenson and Germir Hooks; two granddaughters, Kaiona A. Benson and Desta S. Hooks; one great grandson, Sire M. Riggins; three brothers, Willie Stevenson, Jr. (Lois), James E. Stevenson, Wallace C. Stevenson (Betty); three sisters, Pearly M. Mingo, Ellaree D. Fisher and Helen R. Belk; special brothers-in-law, Sylvester T. Peyton, Franklin P. Barnes, Jr.; special sister-in-law, Merion B. Bethea (Johnnie) and a host of nieces , nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Cedar Rock Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Service will be conducted by Reverend Jerusha Gaither and Reverend George Mingo.

Viewing will be Saturday 2:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

To the Stevenson family, I am sad to hear of Raymond passing. He was such a kind person. My favorite memory is of him and his brother playing baseball with me and my brother in a field at our house when we were teenagers. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Ww are so sorry to hear of Raymond's passing. He was our supervisor at Springs for several years and we thought the world of him. He was always calm, considerate and fair. He was a blessing to me while I was working in the mill and going to nursing school. He was a very good friend and he will be greatly missed. Our prayers wil be with his family.
