Obituary For Eddie Canty

Mr. Eddie Henderson Canty 69, passed away on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Mr. Canty was born in Rock Hill, SC. He is the son of the late Allen Barnes Canty and Ella Lou Wanda Sanders Canty. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Curtis, Allen Jr, Lawrence Sr and his wife Connie Wright Canty.

He was a member of the Catawba Indian Nation and grew up on the Reservation. He worked in the textile industry and for veterans cab before retiring due to his health.

A memorial service will be held Saturday February 1, 2020 at 3pm at Grace Nazarene Church in Rock hill, with the Pastor Tom Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of his sister Rosemary’s 510 Charraw Town Dr. Rock Hill. Burial will be announced at a later time.

Eddie is survived by his daughter Emily Canty of Rock Hill, who was and always will be his heart. (What Emily wants Emily Gets). His Step-daughter Lisa Mackey of Monroe, GA, Step-sons Andrew Wright (Makayla), Lee McGraw (Alexis), Tj McGraw. 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Cecil Canty (Dorothy), sisters Rosemary Roberts (Johnny), Louise Shirah, Ella Campbell, Fern Lambiasi, Elizabeth McGinnis, Elaine Cherry, Ollie Thomas all of Rock Hill. His god son Dale McGraw, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wayne T Patrick Hospice House for the excellent care given to our beloved father, brother and uncle. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Eddie’s name to Hospice & Community Care Rock Hill.

Uncle Eddie was always so good to us as we where growing up. Took us for fun rides in his nice cars and spoil us with candy money. Lol. Rest in peace. Will always cherish those memories.❤️
