MR. WILLIE CARLTON CRENSHAW was born on March 24, 1942 in South Hill, Virginia son of late Willie Chambliss Crenshaw and Hazel Adams Crenshaw. He was one of five children. He was preceded in death by a son, Carlton L. Crenshaw; his three sisters: Charlotte Nollie, Violet Crenshaw, and Hazel “Glover” Crenshaw. He departed this life suddenly on February 1, 2020 in VCU-Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.

At an early age, Carlton was baptized and joined Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church in Mecklenburg County, VA. He attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

Carlton was employed with Pepsi Cola Bottling Company for over twenty five years as a machine mechanic.

On December 24, 1964 he married Florene Evans and to this union a son, Carlton Llewellyn and a daughter, Carlette were born.

Carlton was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in which he served as Junior Warden for several terms and as an usher. Carlton’s love for the Lord was exemplified in his services for the community and the church.

Carlton’s passion was working on lawn-mowers and small engines. He also loved doing woodwork and spending time with family and friends.

Carlton is survived by his devoted wife, Florene Crenshaw of the home; daughter- Carlette (Jerome) Williams, Brodnax, VA; seven grandchildren- Jay, Trevor, Taylor, Rowan, Joshua, Rachel, Courtlain; one great-grandchild, Abel; one brother- Curtis Crenshaw, Brodnax, VA; daughter- in-law, Pamela Crenshaw, Georgia; sister-in-law, Delois (Thomas) Kersey, South Hill, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends too numerous to mention.
