Obituary For Johnnie Lee Hollis, Jr.

Mr. Johnnie Hollis, Jr., 65, of Phenix City, AL, passed Friday, February 7, 2020 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be 12 Noon EST Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Bishop, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 12-7 p.m. EST.

Mr. Hollis was born January 3, 1955 to the late Johnnie Lee Hollis, Sr. and the late Willie Lee Hollis. He was a student of the Russell County School System and a graduate of Chavala High School class of 1974. Johnnie was a former member of the United States Army and former textile mill worker until his health declined. He was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL where he served as an usher.

Johnnie was a big guy with a big heart and big personality. He was humble man but known jokester. He was a collector of things and often the neighborhood chauffeur. He enjoyed being outdoors and working there. His survivors include two sons, Anthony (Arqueetshica) James of Phenix City and Antonio James of Auburn, AL; two daughters, Tiffany English of Phenix City, AL and Pristina Hollis of Norcross, GA; two brothers, Robert (Amanda) Hollis of Atlanta, GA and Jerome Hollis of Auburn, AL; one grandson, Anthony James; two aunts, Lennie Mae Randall and Gertrude Minger both of Phenix City, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
