Obituary For Sophia Wesley

Sophia Lorraine Wesley, 48, of Hastings was born on Saturday, July 17, 1971 to James Wesley and Willie Mae Tucker. She received her education in the St. Johns County School System. Sophia was employed with Wal – Mart Super Center in St. Augustine, FL for 15 years and was known as a hard worker. She was a great mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, God sister, and friend to many. Her pride and joy were her family. Her one and only grandson “King” was her heart. She was devoted to her loving life partner “Pete” and a rock to her children and family.

In addition to her father, Sophia was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Eric A. Tucker and Calvin Wesley; aunt, Dorothy Hayes; uncle, William Tucker, God sister, Betty Ann King; God brothers, James Calloway Jr, Charles Calloway Sr, Tyrone Calloway and Travis Hall.

She leaves to cherish her memories, A devoted mother, Willie Mae Tucker; Her loving soulmate of 28 years, Steven “Pete” Douglas, daughters, Sieda Wesley, Stephanie Douglas; sons, Dennell Wesley and Justin Whitty; grandson, Timarion “King” Seymour; sisters, Evonski (Larry) Tucker, Melissa (Rickey) Tucker, Rosa (Tony) Waters, Helen(Joe) Wright, Sandra (William) Wesley-Simpson, Paula (Earl) Ward, Blondie (James) Jones, and Alice Wesley; brothers, Willie Varnes, Thurley Wesley, James (Anna) Wesley, Jr., and Kenneth Stephens; aunts: Lula Mae Jones and Francina Stuckey, Irene Blackman; uncles, James E. Tucker, Terry (Georgia Mae) Tucker and Raymond (Barbara) Tucker; mother-in-law, Louise Douglas, brother-in-laws, John Douglas, Michael (Christina) Douglas, Ennis Wright, Clewis Wright, Jr.,; sister-in-laws, Valencia “Trina” Wesley, Ernestine (Sammie Lee) Wright, Loretta Douglas, Windie (Milton) Hand, Tangerlar (Leroy) Clark-Jackson; Godmother, Georgia Mae Calloway; God sisters, Ann Johnson, Yolanda Moore, Tracy Calloway, Tasha Torrance; God brothers, Lawerence and Frankie Calloway, Richard Robbins, Tommy (Stephanie) Woods; Godsons, Shawn Arnold and Kenneth James, Jr.; Special Friend, Madonna Woods-Raska, A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The viewing will be 6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Pompey’s Temple Church of God in Christ, Elder Randall Chestnut, Pastor and eulogist. The Homegoing Celebration will be 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at The Walter E. Harris Gymnasium in Hastings, FL.
