Obituary For Etta Robinson Smith

Etta Robinson Smith of Fort Pierce, Florida peacefully passed away on February 3, 2020 in Treasure Coast Hospice.

Etta was born in Brewster, Florida to the late Ella and Columbus Battle on January 12, 1924. She later married and had seven children. Etta attended grade school and retired as a domestic worker. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a loyal and faithful servant of God. She enjoyed attending Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, reading her Bible daily, sharing family stories, and making everyone laugh and smile. She was truly an angel and her genuine heart will be seen through her family and friends’ cherished memories.

She was an active member in multiple community organizations including: Quarterback Auxiliary Club, Florida Association of Women’s Club Inc., Pride of St. Lucie Elks Lodge Temple #853, Independent Afro-American Relief Union, and Heroines of Jericho.

She was predeceased by her late husband: Jeff Smith, her sisters: Alma Lesesne and Alberta Adderly; brother: Charlie Battle and daughter: Patricia Wingfield. Left to cherish her precious memories are: a son, Freddie Robinson, Sr. (sp. Dr. Susie Robinson) of Pembroke Pines; five daughters: Claritha Buchanan (sp. Clyde Buchanan) of Columbia, Tennessee; Reatha Holmes, Gloria Lockridge, Linda Morgan, and Christine Jones of Fort Pierce, Florida; fourteen lovely grandchildren: Dr. LaFreda Smith, Lewis Buchanan, Yolonda Holland, Emmanuel Lyles, Denise Lyles, Randolph Lockridge, Pamela Young, Freddie Robinson Jr., Edward Nakia Buchanan, Dr. Katrina Smith, Markus Morgan, Tashauna Merriweather, Clarissa Cameron, and Ashley Jones; 16 great grand-children; 2 great great grand-children and a host of cousins and sorrowing friends.

Public visitation for Etta Robinson Smith will take place on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce, FL.
