Obituary For Betty Singleton Folk

~A LIFE WELL LIVED~

Betty Singleton Folk, fourth daughter of nine children, was born to the late Holbrook Singleton and the late Dora Newton Singleton on April 21, 1962, in Newark, New Jersey. Betty was educated in the Public Schools of New Jersey.

Betty always knew Christ was her savior in the acceptance in her heart. Through the years, Betty attended Good Hope Baptist Church, Estill, South Carolina, with her mother, and occasionally, Lovewell Baptist Church, Lena, South Carolina.

Betty was first united in marriage to Garry Gaskin and later to Greg Folk.

After the death of her father, she dedicated her life to taking care of her mother until her death in May of 2019. Betty had many ups and downs, but she always had strong faith and would let you know she was doing well.

From the City of Newark, New Jersey to Estill, South Carolina, Betty traveled throughout her life, taking care of her family.

In 1982, Betty enlisted in the United State Army and served until she received an Honorable Discharge.

Betty was a loving individual who didn't mind sharing what she had with anyone in need. Her nieces and nephews were very fond of her, as if they were her own children. Betty's main encounters with people were often at the bank, the post office and Three-Way Mini-Mart in Estill.

Our loved one has taken flight. God has gained another angel on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at her residence in Lena, South Carolina. Peace comes to us, knowing that she is not suffering with pain and hopelessness. As she enters her new life, she will be greeted by her parents, grandparents, and siblings: Carolyn, Harold, Shirley, Tony, Marie, Herbert, and Carl.

Those left to celebrate her life and perpetuate her legacy: her loving sister: Doris Ann Barbee, Petersburg, VA; Her loving companion: Orell McClain, one brother-in-law; James Cameron both of the home; (25) nieces and nephews; Four aunts; Earlene Scott, Ridgeland, South Carolina, Rosa Telfor, Piscataway, New Jersey, Lillie Newton, and Helen Newton both of Estill, South Carolina; A host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
