Obituary For Johnny Ray Gooden

Graveside services for Mr. Johnny Ray Gooden, 60, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Hall Grove Church Cemetery. Pastor Clarence Henderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Mr. Johnny Ray Gooden was born on Friday, November 6, 1959, to the union of Willie Harold Gooden and Bernice Louise Thomas Gooden in Talladega County, Alabama.

Mr. Gooden accepted Christ at an early age and united with Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. He was a graduate of Munford High School. In 2018, Johnny retired as a technician from Charter Communications.

On Sunday, February 16, 2020, Mr. Gooden departed this walk of life and began his eternal journey at his residence. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Willie and Bernice Gooden; grandparents, Johnny and Ora Gooden, Claude and Bernice Turner; two brothers, Norris Gooden and Terry Gooden; one sister, Greta Gooden; and a sister-in-law, Latetia Gooden.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two children, April (Emory) Best of Pinson, Alabama and Johnny Gooden, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama; three sisters, Bernadine Gooden of Munford, Alabama, Katrina K. (Fred) Gooden of Saks, Alabama and Charlette Turner of Munford, Alabama; four brothers, Willie T. (Debra) Gooden of Oxford, Alabama, Anthony Gooden of Munford, Alabama, Tracy Gooden of Lineville, Alabama and Jimmy (Angela) Gooden of Hamilton, Georgia; a special uncle, Forest Gooden of Munford, Alabama; two special aunts, Lilly Gooden and Virgil Goligthly of Atlanta, Georgia; two uncles, Lovell (Bernice) Gooden of Munford, Alabama and Jimmy (Patricia) Thomas of Birmingham, Alabama; his best friend, Jerry Taylor of Talladega, Alabama; his little buddy, Kaiden Swain of Calera, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
