Obituary For Kennedy Simone Waller

Kennedy Simone Waller, 2 years, 11 months, on the eve of Sunday, February 16, 2020, God sent His angel to St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond to gather his child. God saw that she was tired and needed rest. Kennedy was born March 27, 2017, in Richmond to Shakeela and Delonte Waller. “Kidney Bean”, as she was affectionately named by her beloved aunts, loved weekly music therapy, sing-alongs with her aunt Kim, playing with balloons, staying up late at night, giving the “side-eye”, singing with her favorite cartoon “three little kittens”, and spending time with her best “nurse” friend, Willnette Johnson. Kennedy taught us so much in her short time here. We learned that you don’t need words to communicate your thoughts, feelings and needs, you don’t have to walk to lead and show others how to live a joyful less complicated life and you don’t have to be earth-side long to leave a significant legacy and lasting impression. Kennedy will join, in heaven, her older brother, Xavier Brown Waller. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, father, and baby brother, Gabriel; paternal grandmother, Teresa Waller, paternal grandfather, Richard Coles Jr. (Brenda), maternal grandparents, Thurman and Gertrude Brown; uncle, Dekota Waller; five aunts, Kimberly Brown, Melissa Jackson (Walt), Tamika Johnson, Katrina Washington and Shamica Banks; a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins; godmother, Kamari Parris and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. The family will receive friends from 7:15 to 8:15 Friday, February 21 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 22 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1127 N. 28th Street. Rev. Dr. Sylvester T. Smith officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
