Danny’s Personal Reflection -Danny told me (Phyllis) on January 31, 2020, at 9:38 am-Danny said- I had a talk with God and I told him that I needed a job to do for him because I needed something to push toward. Danny told me that he told God he was here to do his will. He said, I told God I don’t want you to send anyone, he said I want the job you have for me to come from you. God answered Danny Lee- He went directly home to be with the Lord to serve Him.

I also remember, Phyllis telling me, actually reminding me if I have or hadn't heard, that these firemen got blown up at the rock store and am I sure that I want to be a fireman. She was truly distraught with this horrific fire scene and concerned for my welfare. Previously I had began the process of joining the fire service and had to go though the HR department to turn in something, when we crossed paths again this is when she approached me with this question. I couldn't ever have expected Danny and Phyllis would meet, but what a feaking awesome couple. Love u Phyllis.

This great man took me into the very first fire that I have ever been to. He kept me encouraged through this mundane firehall life. I respect him and his honest answers and always have. A true friend. He saved my life. Back story..I was working a fire, trying to find a older woman expected to still be inside this house. During my 360 of the house, prior to going in, I almost killed myself 3 times!! 3 times Danny screamed at me to stop. The third time I turned around mad and yelled back to him with "WHAT!!", he said to me to look. When I turned I found a powerline within arms reach and arching which I didnt see. If I had stepped on that line, It would have killed me. God works through everything we do. Danny was someone that God used. We continued our search for this lady and found her watching the structural fire from the woods without letting anyone know who she was. I always reminded Danny that he saved my life and laughingly he said he brought me onto my first fire. Love you bro.

Mr. Danny Lee was an Angel of a man. He always had a smile and kind word to say. One thing I loved about him is he was always inquisitive about The Lord. Him and his wife, Phyllis Lee always looked out for Pastor Russell and myself. He has departed from us but never forgotten. My prayers goes out to the family. Love Evg. J. P. Russell

Danny Lee grew up in Lake County (Mt Dora, Fl) and he was a very close friend to my husband the late John Woodbury and I; I'll never forget the special moments we all shared with him when he would come visit & stay with us during his break from the military; He always had such a big contagious smile that would brighten anyone in his presence. He spoke with a positive attitude and always gave good advice! Danny is /was truly a Hero that lead by example! My deepest condolences to his wife, children, grandkids and his family of Rome Fire Department! RIH#DannyLee
