Obituary For Alvin J. Gaither

Alvin Jerrell Gaither was born to the Late Clarence Gaither and surviving Mother,Lena Bell Gaither on September 6th, 1957 in Gifford, Florida. He was the fourthchild of seven children.

Mr. Alvin Jerrell Gaither affectionately known as “GATOR”, received his basiceducation in the Indian River County School District in Vero Beach, Florida, graduating in 1975.

After living in the Indian River County area his entire life, he earned thereputation and became known as a Friendly, “Happy-Go-Happy” person. He possessed the power and the ability to make those who came in contact with him,laugh out of control without fail.

After becoming acquainted with Barbara Ann Williams, the two united in Holy Matrimony, raising 4 children (three boys and one girl), before separating. Mr. Gaither was also an employee at Airlite Construction Company for 25 plusyears and later began working in landscaping until his demise.

Preceding him in death was his Father, Mr. Clarence Gaither, Sister, Ms. Effie Bernice Smith and Brother, Mr. Clarence Gaither, Jr.

He leaves to mourn his passing; his Mother, Lena Bell Gaither, two Sister, Debra Faye Gaither Woolfork (Freddie) and Angela Smith LeMelle (Gerald), two brothers Timothy Gaither (Sandra) and Rodney Gaither. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other Relatives and Friends.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Alvin Gaither will be held on 11am on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church in Gifford. A public visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church from 5 - 7 p.m. Interment at Gifford Cemetery.
