Obituary For Donald Lewis

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Lewis, 61, of 222 Gray Street Fairfax, SC will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 29,2020 at St Mark Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Mallet Cemetery, Fairfax, SC.

Donald Squire “Don” Lewis was born on October 7, 1958 to Squire Sanders Lewis and Jannie Bowers Milledge in Allendale, South Carolina.

At an early age, he joined and was baptized at St. Phillips Baptist Church in Fairfax, South Carolina. Donald was educated in the Allendale County Schools and was a graduate of Allendale - Fairfax Class of 1977.

Donald joined the United States Army and served as an Infantry Soldier for over seven years. While serving, he returned home and married Terry Ann Myers and to this union four children were born: Donald Jr., Terrell, Christopher and Linda. After his honorable discharge, he was later employed as a police officer in Brunson, South Carolina and Estill, South Carolina. He was also employed with the Allendale County Detention Center.

Don had a passion for working on cars and later became a community mechanic and worked at Polk’s Muffler and Brake in Hampton, South Carolina.

He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Lewis; and three uncles: Richard Bowers, South Bowers and Matthew Dobson.

Don leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife, Terry Ann Lewis of Fairfax, SC; three sons: Donald (Lisa) Lewis of Yemassee, SC, Terrell A. (Sandy) Lewis of Seneca, SC and Christopher M. Lewis of Fairfax, SC; one daughter, Linda Lewis of Fairfax, SC; mother, Jannie Milledge of Fairfax, SC; four brothers: Wayne Brown and Ronnie Brown both of Allendale, SC, Warren Brown of Georgia and William Lewis of Brunson, SC; four sisters: Mattie (Joe) Miller of Estill, SC, Ethel Williams of Hampton, SC, Teresa Lewis of Fairfax, SC and Joeann Seabrooks of Allendale, SC; three brothers-in-law: Curtis Seabrooks Sr., Eugene Capers and Wayne (Faye) Dickson of Allendale, SC; five sisters-in-law, Beverly (Danny) Loadholt of Govan, SC, Vivian Myers, Cynthia Thompson, and Matylda Thompson all of Fairfax, SC, and Sylvia (Richard) Broomfield all of Allendale, SC; seven grandchildren: Adriana, Kayden, J’Kwan, Dominic, Irelyn, Denitra and Adonis; one aunt Lafaye Bowers, a special cousin, Stacy Aldrich; a special grandson,Qua’Darian Bates; three god children; Robynn McMillan, Mandrell Roberts, and Nyasia Patterson, a devoted friend, Jimmy Dell Mew; and a host of nieces, nephews and uncles, and other loving relatives and caring friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m.

Friends may call at the residence of his mother, Jannie Milledge at 222 Gray Road Allendale or at the funeral home.
