Obituary For Melvin Tyrone King

Mr. Melvin King, 65, of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, February 20, 2020 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Nichols Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Isaac Hudson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2020 from 2-7 p.m. EST.

Mr Melvin Tyrone King was born on March 9, 1954 to the late Herman King and Carrie Lee Battle King. He accepted Christ and joined Bethel A.M.E Church at the age of 14. Melvin graduated in 1973 from Mt Olive High School in Fort Mitchell, AL. Melvin was employed by Columbus Foundry for over 30 years before he retired.

Survivors include his wife Ilean King and four Beautiful daughters, Pauline King (James) Miller, Sherenthia King (Tensley) Green, Iquisha King, and Tara (Rechard) Jones. Eleven grandchildren, Jerrold Davis, Damien Dickerson, Reginald Whitlock Jr., Antavious Jackson, Ty’Quandre Davis, Jasmine King, DarNajia Jackson, Ty’Kerria Green, Larry Clausell Jr., Shakira King, Tavarus Green, and four great grandchildren,two sisters Cathy James, and Gloria King(Jerry) Smith, and two brothers Homer(Cindy) King and Stanley King. And a host of nieces and nephews.
