Obituary For Ms. Idella Preaster (65)

Don’t be discouraged , Joy comes in the morning. Know that God is nigh , Stand still and look up. God is going to show up, He is standing by.

There’s healing for your sorrow, Healing for your pain. Healing for your spirit, There’s shelter from the rain.

Lord send the healing, For this we know. There is a balm in Gilead, For there’s a balm in Gilead. There is a balm in Gilead, To heal the soul, Healing for the soul.

I used to see Ms. Preaster sitting on the bench facing South Ashley St. (across from the Daniel Ashley) every morning as I drove into work. Once I stopped to offer her some money as she had all her earthly possessions in a grocery basket. She was reluctant to accept anything, proudly saying that she hadn't asked for it, but I was eventually able to get her to acquiesce and accept the money. Shortly afterward, she must have moved her location as I did not see her from that point onward. I pray she is enjoying her heavenly reward, and has been reunited with those loved ones in her life who have gone on before her. Rest in peace, Ms. Preaster....
