Obituary For Brenda Ann Hairston Abbott

Mrs. Brenda Ann Hairston Abbott,66, of Eden, NC died Thursday, February 20, 2020. Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC. Brenda, daughter of the late Moses and Annie Bell Hairston was born in Leaksville, N.C. May 17, 1953. She departed this life peacefully on February 20, 2020 at Hospice of Rockingham County, Wentworth, N. C. Brenda was a graduate of the Class of 1971 from Morehead High School, Eden, N.C. She was a caregiver and a salesclerk at Belk’s in Greensboro, NC. She was a member of Evangel Fellowship, Greensboro, NC and later joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Eden, NC where she sung in the choir. She was a loving & devoted mother, an adoring sister, aunt, cousin and friend. We all know Brenda was a very straight forward person for she would tell you what she needed you to know. She will be remembered for her beautiful simile and bubbly laughter. Also preceded in death was three brothers. Her loving memories will live on in the hearts of those who loved her: one son; Deprice Hairston, two sisters; Mary Scales (Herman) and Peggy Hairston, one aunt; Mary Richardson, three sisters-in-law; Martha Hairston, Leochi Hairston and Gloria Hairston, seven nieces, one nephew, four great-nieces, two great-nephews, four stepchildren, a host of cousins, friends and the love of her life, Missy Abbott, her dog.
