Obituary For Richard Moss III

Thus it was suddenly on Tuesday, February 25, 2020; God dispatched his angels and called our beloved, RICHARD MOSS, III, to his eternal home. Trustee Richard Moss, III was born on July 24, 1948 to the late Virginia Shearin Moss in Manson, NC.

He received his formal education in the Warren County Public School system. He attended North Warren High School in Wise, NC, where he obtained his high school diploma.

At an early age, he confessed Christ and was baptized and joined Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ He was employed with Lawrence Glass Company in Henderson, North Carolina known as Ardagh Group. After forty-four years of service, he retired to 2010. In 1969, Richard was United in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life the former Glenda Johnson.

Richard better known as “Third” was a giving person. Always willing to do whatever he could to help whomever he came across. He loved making Brunswick stew and cooking on the grill. He had a special passion for creating “Thirds BBQ Sauce”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin grand-daughters, Rickiyra Vone and Ricshayla Mone Moss; two sisters, Liza Beard and Phyllis Moss; one brother, Ralph Moss.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his loving wife of fifty-one years: Glenda Johnson Moss of the home; one daughter, Glennis Moss (Nita) of Henderson, NC; one son, Ricky Moss (Tito) of Manson, NC; one grandson, Rashaad Moss of Manson, NC; one brother, James Moss (Patricia) of Richmond, VA, two sisters-inlaw, Dorothy Boyd of Norlina, NC and Joyce Moss of Richmond, VA; two brothers-inlaw, James (Boo) Boyd and James (Bay-Bay) Johnson (Charine); three nieces, Anna Delandro (John), Frances Williams (Larry) and Gwendolyn Moss (Dallas) all of Richmond, VA; one nephew, Joshua Moss; two great nephews, Dorian and Trevor Delandro of Richmond, VA; one special nephew, Russell Johns Jr. (Punkin), one special friend, whom he thought of as a son, Thurman a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12 Noon at Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ in Manson, North Carolina. The Reverend Charlie Leath, Pastor will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Moss may be viewed at the church on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 11am until 12noon.

I work at site 9 in Manson and I always enjoyed talking to Mr Moss he was a very kind person and he will be truly missed.
