Obituary For Julia Colon

Julia Colon, 78, of N. Harrisburg St., Steelton answered her Heavenly Father’s call to join him in her final resting place on Monday, February 24, 2020 in the peace and love of her home. She was born in Caomo, Puerto Rico, the daughter and youngest of five siblings of the late Juan Colon and the late Juana Colon. Julia migrated to Brooklyn, NY where she began her family of five children. Her maternal spirit touched not only her biological children, but also her grandchildren and any friend who came to meet her. She was the family matriarch. Her laugh could light up a room and she used her voice both for cultural enrichment and endearment of her loved ones. As she reared her family, she left the big city to move to central Pennsylvania with the late Victor Pena who was the love of her life. There, they settled for their remaining years. Julia joined her parents, the love of her life and two fallen children in their final resting place. She left a legacy of love and a positive spirit and leaves to cherish precious memories of their life together, her loving children, Debbie Colon, Luis Colon and Leslie Colon; her many grandchildren; a host of other relatives and an abundance of lifelong friends that hold memories of her dear to their hearts. Julia’s life will be celebrated on Monday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery. www.majorhwinfieldfuneralhome.com
