Obituary For Larry Gene Ross

Mr. Larry Gene Ross, 72, of 2501 Athens HWY, Madison, GA, gained his wings on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Morgan Medical Center.

Mr. Larry Gene Ross was born in Buckhead, Ga., Morgan County, on October 25, 1947 to the late Ervin Porter Ross, Sr., and Mrs. Annie Maude Mitchell Ross. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Ervin Porter “Foot” Ross, Jr. and Tommie Lee Ross.

He received his education in the public schools of Morgan County. On May 23, 1981 he was united in holy matrimony to Jeanette Colbert.

At an early age in his life he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joined the Jackson Grove Baptist Church in Madison, Ga. He served on the usher board until his health failed.

He was a devoted family man and hard worker. He grew up as part of the East End Community. He worked as a truck driver for several companies including Dexter Axle, Monticello, Ga, ABF, Sanford Trusses, Purina Feed, and Consolidated Freightways. After retiring from Consolidated Freightways he worked for Bo Wreckers, Madison, Ga.

He enjoyed cooking on the grill, spending time with family, and the sport of drag racing. He was known for always having a smile on his face, and giving nicknames to family members and friends. He was a car enthusiast. He had a passion for wanting his vehicles to be so clean it would shine on a cloudy day. He wanted his vehicles to stand out by adding tinted windows, wheels, stripes, and other car accessories. A couple of his famous sayings were “Getting a car is one thing, and keeping a car is another.” & “There is more to a car than just putting gas in it.”
