Reflections of Life
Eloise Smiley Dixon Ephriam was born to the late Jim and Melissa Smiley on February 4, 1933 in Foxworth, MS. She united with the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and served until she moved away. She was a graduated of Pine Grove School in Foxworth. Eloise was twice married; Frank Dixon of New Orleans, LA and Robert Ephriam in Los Angeles, CA. Eloise was a great cook, and avid reader and was noted for her exceptional penmanship. She loved traveling from state to state while collecting spoons from each state she visited.
Eloise was a dedicated employee at Metropolitan State Hospital for 35 plus years. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, where she cooked for various events held at the church. She loved all sports, especially when her son and grandson were participating. Eloise was one of the LA Lakers greatest fans.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, brother, AC, WC, and Ollie Gene Smiley; sisters, Lee Anna Smiley, Vera Billy, Jessie Lee Johnson, and Helen Husband-time friend Daniel B. McGee of New Orleans, LA.
Her life will be forever cherished by her son, Dale and daughter-in-law Elva Ephriam; grandson, MAASAI; granddaughters IMANI and NAALA Ephriam of Santa Monica, CA; one sister, Maeola Coleman; one sister-in-law, Annette Smiley of Foxworth MS; a special friend, Cora Lee Martin of Foxworth, MS; a special niece, Denise Husband Henry of New Orleans, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services were held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 am Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Foxworth, MS. Rev. Clayton Expose, Officiating
