Obituary For Clarence "Uncle Junior" Aldridge

Clarence Aldridge “Uncle Junior” of Blytheville passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Gosnell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 91. He was born July 8, 1928 in Luxora, Arkansas to Clarence and Hattie Burte Aldridge. “Uncle Junior” known fondly to his family and friends enjoyed softball, basketball, shooting pool, playing cards and dominoes, fast cars and living the American dream. In 1958 “Uncle Junior” moved to Lansing, Michigan and dedicated his service to the City of Lansing Public Works Department, retiring in 1986. Uncle Junior moved back to Blytheville after living in Lansing, Michigan sixty-one years, January 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Juanita Aldridge, brothers, Sinclair (Eva), James Curtis, Sr., Earnest Edward; sisters, Otheree (James Robert) Williams, and Julia Louise Kendall. Uncle Junior leaves to cherish his loving memories, two sister in laws, Versie Lee Aldridge of Blytheville, Arkansas; and Delois Aldridge of Lansing, Michigan; sixteen caregivers, Dorothy (Julius) Lykes of Lansing, Michigan; Irene Aldridge, Geneva Aldridge (Freeman) Harris, Sherry ( John) Prunty, Donna Aldridge, Denise Darcel Straughter, Pennie (Stanley) Sims, Lamon Fitzgerald (LaToria) Aldridge, Latorrence Aldridge, Sherrick Prunty, and Cammie Sims all of Blytheville, Arkansas; a special grandniece, Tela-Maynai Louise Aldridge (AaZan Eugene Reece) and adopted niece, Katherine Warren, an adopted nephew, Endre Jefferson, nine nephews, Eddie (Marilyn), Carl, James Curtis, Jr( Runree), Cenghnisk (Ursula), Wendall, Lamon (LaToria), Darell, DeShun (Betty), and Johnny; fifteen nieces, Dorothy (Julius), Barbara (James), Betty, Irene, Bernice, Frances, Geneva (Freeman), Peggy, Deneen (Arnez), Sherry (John), JoAnn (Kim), Donna, Darcel, Synetta (Daryl), and Pennie (Stanley), five special friends, Willie Davis of Clarksville, Tennessee, Homer Walker, Al McGruder, Bill Stewart, and Julia Vaughn of Lansing, Michigan; many great nieces and great nephews, one step-daughter, Bessie Thomas and six step grandchildren, the Gosnell Nursing and Rehabilitation staff on Hall 300, Chalise, Endre, Tiffany, Candice, Jasmine, Kia, Carolyn, Angie, Jackie, Billie Jo, Yolanda and Johnny. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 beginning at 10:00 am until service time at noon at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 809 East Main Street, Blytheville, Arkansas Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Rickey Everett is the pastor. Reverend Howard Smith III will deliver the eulogy with entombment immediately following at Dogwood Cemetery and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you would donate in honor of Clarence “Uncle Junior” Aldridge to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX. 75231 or to the charity of your choice.
