Obituary For Mrs. Louise Chavis

Louise Williams Chavis was born July 12, 1934. God called her home March 10, 2020. She was the eldest daughter of the late James Alsbrooks and Reola Massey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd J. (Billy Boger) Chavis; two brothers, James Alsbrooks and Howard Alsbrooks.

Louise enjoyed cooking and feeding anyone that came along, whether they were hungry or not. Feeding was her way of expressing the love she had for everyone. Cooking was always her main employment source.

Left to cherish memories of her are two daughters, Lutricia Mirwani and Henrietta (Edward) Turner; two sons, George Patterson and Tony Patterson; sisters, Mary Loyd and Mattie Clyburn; two grandsons, Joseph T. Ivey and Donald R. Heggins; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 831 Leonard Avenue. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

A special thank you to the 2nd shift Nurses and CNA’s at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center and to the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont.
