Mrs. Celia English Turner began life’s journey on Monday, June 10, 1929, to the union of Alfred English and Anna Jemison English in Ohatchee, Alabama.
Mrs. Turner accepted Christ at an early age and united with Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active participant in Sunday school and bible study. She was also a member of the usher board, choir and missionary society. Professionally, she was employed with AIDB and was an assistant in the Radiology Department at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.
On Friday, March 13, 2020, Celia began her eternal journey at Talladega Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Hugh Turner, Sr.; two children, Henry George English and Mary H. Cochran; a grandson, Anrae "Bo" English; her parents, Alfred and Anna English; three brothers and six sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Alfretta (Warren) Green of Talladega, Alabama and Reverend Hugh (Valeria) Turner, Jr. of Auburn, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Claudette English Porter, Felix (Necole) Turner, Terrance (Arronda) Mosley, Dr. Bertis English, Evette Williams, Patrick (Adrienne) Green and Christopher Turner; fifteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
