Clyde Davison

Mr. Clyde Davison, more affectionately known as “Shoke Davis,” was born June 6, 1957, to the late Mrs. Mildred Reeves Davison and the late Mr. Fletcher Davison, Jr., in Roberta, Crawford County, Georgia. At an early age, he joined Olive Grove Baptist Church. He attended public school in Crawford County School System and graduated with the Class of 1976. He received and athletic scholarship in baseball to Fort Valley State College. In 1979, he met Ms. Patricia Middlebrooks, and on April 16, 1979, they were joined in Holy Matrimony. The two shared forty-one years of marriage together. He was the father of three children and a proud grandfather of five. To support his family, he was employed by Martha Mills Textiles. He was a faithful and dedicated employee. He later began to work in construction as brick masonry. Clyde was gifted and talented in sports. He played baseball in high school and community softball. His gift was passed down to his children and grandchildren. In 2019, he was inducted into the Crawford County Athletic Hall of Fame for Baseball. During his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, watching his grandchildren play sports, grilling, and socializing with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mr. Calvin Davison. On Tuesday, March 10, 2020, the Lord called his name, he answered, and his spirit took flight and went home to rest. His departure has saddened the hearts of his family, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mrs. Patricia Davison of Thomaston, GA; three children, Mr. Antonio Crafter of Macon, GA, and Ms. Yeshemica Davison and Ms. Travera Davison, both of Thomaston, GA; six grandchildren, Terriona Alexander, Anterris Alexander, Y’twanes Underwood, Akeen Chaney, Nylin Underwood, and Jynia Crafter; two sisters, Rev. Beatrice Davison and Mrs. Catherine (Homer) Walker, both of Roberta, GA; three brothers, Mr. Billy Davison of Atlanta, GA, Deacon Bobbie (Carlene) Davison of Culloden, GA, and Mr. Charlie Frank (Gwendolyn) Davison of Bonaire, GA; four aunts, Mrs. Rosa Lee Crawford, and Mrs. Essie Mae Hayes both of Athens, GA, Mrs. Carrie Lee Reeves, and Mrs. Lillie Maude Reeves, both of Roberta, GA, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Linda Davison Centerville, GA, and Ms. Lorriane Middlebrooks, Ms. Kayla Middlebrooks, Mr. Luther (Cassandra) Middlebrooks and Mrs. Frances Middlebrooks, all of Thomaston, GA; two devoted friends, Mr. Melvin “Fly” Ferguson and Jackie Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
