Obituary For Albert Spears, Jr.

Albert Spears Jr. was born on Sept 20, 1922 in Mayesville, South Carolina to the late Albert and Janie Spears. In 1947, he married the late Ellamae Richardson. Through this union, they were blessed to have 11 children whom all lived in Fort Pierce, FL.

Mr. Albert worked for many years in Florida. He retired from the City of Fort Pierce after 26 years as a mechanical engineer and from Tree Sweet after 10 years as an agricultural engineer. He also helped in building his own first home from the ground-up!

Mr. Albert accepted the Lord as his personal savior and participated in service under Pastor Gordon’s leadership. Some of his favorite past times included playing pool and checkers, playing a guitar, organic gardening, and supporting education. He also enjoyed helping others and spending time with family! He was preceded in death by (brother) Isaac Richardson; (sisters) Catherine Davis, Rosa Spears, Sarah Jane Johnson; (daughters)Janie S. Pettigrew, Rachel S. Adams, Frances S. Stevens, Carolyn S. Slater, Alberta Evans of N.C.

His surviving family (sisters) Mary Briggs, Almeta Williams, (brothers) Lewis(Bridgette) Richardson, Winston(Idella) Richardson, Franklin(Roberta) Ricahrdson, (daughter) Catherine L. Spears, (sons) Albert Spears III, Richard(Cassandra) Spears, Gerald Spears, Frank Spears, Willie Spears, and Kerry Spears and grands/great grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.

Public visitation for Mr. Albert Spears be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, March 21, 2020 beinning at 12:00pm at First Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery - Fort Pierce, FL.
