Delores Mae Deloatch, 87, of Richmond, died March 22, 2020. She is survived by a devoted friend, Mary T. Walker; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd.

It hurts my heart to learn that my favorite residents passed away. It was a pleasure and a joy to have met Ms. Deloatch since 2013. She was the most independent resident at Lexington Court and I enjoyed her talks, poems and so much laughter. She will be missed, but she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. Words cannot express how much our Auntie Mae is loved and will be missed. I will miss our Sunday phone conversations and her teasing about my broken fingers because I had not written. Love is what keeps those dear to us alive in our hearts; so God's love is proved by His memory of Ms. Deloatch in every detail. If not one sparrow goes forgotten before God or falls to the ground without His notice, certainly he will not forget the love and kindness Ms. Deloatch showed to others, even strangers. She will be fondly remembered. Matthew 10:29,31; Acts 24:15; Psalm 37:11, 29. My condolences to the family.
