I was shocked and saddened to hear that Bob Peay was no longer with us. He was very influential in my development as a social worker. Everytime I went to his office, even after I graduated Bob had or made time to talk with me. He taught one of the best classes I ever took, Racism and the Black Experience. RIP Gerald Bowman, MSW Class of 82

I met Bob over 30 years ago as a MSW student in the 80's. How I practice in the field today was forever shaped by him. He taught me how important it was to live by your truth. He modeled that as well! He will never be forgotten. He was like my family. Tell we meet again Bob. I also ask that the Lord comfort his family Donna C.

To Mrs.Sandra Peay, Thomas Peay (TJ), Trina & the entire Peay Family: We are praying for you that the lord will give you strength during this period and remember God always know best! We thank God for the opportunity to have known and spent time with our brother, Mr. Robert (Bob) Peay. What a wonderful brother he was-didn't mind helping anyone that he could and always concerned about bringing the family together, especially during the Thanksgiving Dinners each year for many years. Thank God for a brother that always showed that he truly cared about all, just like his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Peay. We will miss you man-but we will treasure the memories spent together - all the funny and crazy moments spent when visiting you, times at the warehouse, at the auction fussing because the North Carolina man bought up everything, at a special function, my last funny story I am still laughing at when you called me and took out your "top teethe". I made up my mind then that you were "very crazy". (LOL) Rest in peace my brother. We will never forget you! Ernest & Sarah Green

To know Bob was to love him. I met Bob at VUU; we were in some classes together and became fast friends. After graduating we entered the VCU Masters in Social Work program. Bob was an exemplary student, a true friend to many, and a servant leader. His passion and commitment were unwavering; his love for his dear Sandi and their children a model worth following. I will miss Bob. Rest well, my friend. Much love, Patricia Green

Sand, TJ, Trina, & Family Our hearts are saddened by Bob's passing. He has been a mentor, friend, brother, and Baba to all of us in RABSW. Words can not express nor describe what he has done for us. Professional development, being a family and how to be a family, he has taken the time to allow us to sit at his feet and learn the love of one another will cultivate our families and communities. The commitment we will never be able to replicate, duplicate, nor imitate because his heart full of love for us, his people, is fueled by the immeasurable LOVE OF GOD. Lonnie, Renata, & Family
