Mr. David L. Collins

The Obituary Sgt.David Linnfield Collins was born in Gadsden, Alabama on June 13th, 1954 to the union of Desque and Beauty Collins.

He at an early age he confessed his life to Christ at Shiloh Baptist Church. He attended Carver High School and Emma Sansom High School and played Football for Emma Samson High, he was the first of his class from Emma Samson to Join the U.S. Army on 4-1-1973.

David was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Desque and Beauty Collins, brother, Jessie Earl Collins, Sisters; Fannie Lou Miller and Angeline Parker; aunts, Rose Burnett, Marie Whisenant, and Jackie Stamps; special uncle, Pokey Burnett; one grandchild; stepson Kevin (Boo) Terry.

He departed is life on March, 20, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife Helantha Collins of Gadsden, AL. Two loving Daughters, Ms. Christine Collins and Mrs. Chrissie (David) Frank both of Augusta, GA., one stepson, Orlando Terry of Atlanta, GA, two stepdaughters, Ann & Rhonda Terry. Brother, Willie Joe Collins of Gadsden, AL, Sister, Eve (Eddie) Traynham, Douglasville, GA. nine grandkids, Christyonna, Charlie, Charity, Michael, Mikyaha, Christiane, Warrendarius, Chrisette, and Chaz’. Mother-in-law Ruby (Calvin) Stamps, Two Bother -in-laws, Isiah Parker, Ohatchee, William (Coretta) Jones, Douglasville, GA; one sister-in-law, Selenne (Stephen) Headen, Gadsden, AL. A special great niece, Shavonne Crocton of Gadsden, AL. A special cousin, Bloria Hooks, Gadsden, AL; adopted daughter, Yonna Shropshire, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and many, many dear friends. A very special friend who was like a brother of 60 years, Mr. Bobby Luker. Lifetime friends, David Posey, and Rob Smith

Funeral Services Will be 2 O’clock in the afternoon Friday April 3, 2020 at the Mission Baptist Church Rev. Grady E. Robinson,Jr. Eulogist Burial will follow Lincoln Hill Memorial Park. West Gadsden Funeral Home Directs
