Kenneth attended Burns High and Shelby High Schools. He was a member of New Jerusalem Church where he sang on the choir and served in the music department. He was formerly employed with Jackson’s Cafeteria until his health declined. Even through his health issues, he never was one to complain. He loved to joke, have a good time and listen to music. He also loved his dog Lucky.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Betty Lee Sims and three uncles, James A. Barron, Henry Sims, Jr. and Cedric Sims.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Patricia Ann Hartgrove; one aunt, Kathleen Hosch and a host of cousins, special “brothers” and friends.
Due to recent coronavirus state guidelines limiting the size of gatherings, the service for Mr. Sims will be private. He may be viewed on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The family will be receiveing friends from1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the funeral home.
