Obituary For Joseph Olean Stokes

Joseph O. Stokes, 73, of Richmond, died March 30, 2020. Surviving are two daughters, Shana D. Stokes and Brianna M. Stokes; son, J. Gralyn Stokes; two sisters, Brenda Finkley and Elaine Matthews; brother, Charles Stokes; other relatives and friends. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Joe and I got together at his home each time I returned from Smithfield. They were fun times to just talk home to home. I met Brianne on one occasion as she was going to some type practice. I will miss those visit as I will miss my friend, Joseph Stokes.

No matter how great or small a man is he never leaves this earth unnoticed. He will forever remain in the memories of family, friends, and God who never forgets even the smallest kindness one shows toward his fellow man. This is true of Mr. Stokes. He will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Amidst our sadness may we all draw comfort and hope from God's word.
