To my family: There are so many memories of Aunt Polly living next door to her for so many years. She was genuinely sweet lady. She loved family and she enjoyed life. I can see her coming out the back door dressed in her white uniform. She was dependable not only to her family but to what she believed were her duties as a friend, neighbor, or her church family. Aunt Polly has taken her well deserved rest from this world in the arms of Jesus. I'll see you and Mama again one day. God bless my family

Happy, zippy, funny, loyal and good as gold are just a few adjectives that describe Mrs. Lula Scott. We worked in the Emergency Room together at Martin Army Community Hospital until her retirement. When things got hecked we would burst out singing "Come on in my room Jesus is my doctor and He writes all my "Scription" he give me all my medicine in my room". We had so much fun, laughter and good times. Mrs. Scott was a member of Kappa Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. The members visited her at Riverplace one year during Nurse's week celebrating the trailblazers that paved the road for today's Nurses . We often talked and laughed about the room she was saving for me at Riverplace. I was trying to inform her of my retirement from MACH and was informed that she gained her wings 30 March 2020 at the age of 90 years old. Mrs. Lula Scott ,thank you for your guidance, leadership, mentoring, kindness, support , love and for molding me into the Nurse that you was proud of. You was the epitome of a GREAT NURSE...Fly High my Angelic Nurse Fly High... Scott Family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing your mother with me. Love Daphne Hill Cannon and Family

Scottie as she was called by everyone that worked the ER at MACH. Was the best, hardest working smartest and most dedicated nurse doing her tenure. She had many friends Cason Cannon Mr.Neal Ms. Bessie to name a few, however. There was many more. But the most important was how she treat eveyone. She was honest. Loving, fair, and funny. No matter what she could make everyone laugh and feel she was your best friend. Your kindness and love shall forever be remembered but your support will forever be appreciated. Rest well my friend..

My Aunt Polly was a BEAUTIFUL,spirited, funny, loving lady. She would make me laugh EVERYTIME we talked..she taught me so much through my lifetime with her.She had the best ear for listening to all my nonsense and made perfect sense with it.She had a way to brighten my sadness and educate me at the same time. We had MUCH fun together and I will miss her smile and laughter FOREVER. I love you Aunt Polly and I will miss you tremendously.. Love you always. Bae sis little girl, Lisa

One of my most memorable dates is Sunday, April 14, 1996; that is the day that I first met Lula. She was sitting in 'her' seat at St. Stephens with good friend and fellow nurse Juarenne Cason close by. And the children, the ever present children intuitively drawn to the love radiated by his beautiful lady. I am ever grateful for April 14, 1966 and the 23 plus years I have been blessed to have known you. I love you as does all of your St. Stephen's family. Don Sorjonen

Miss Lula was the very heart of St Stephens . The day of the last tea that was held the father was a little late and we couldn't start until the prayer was said .Next thing I heard was Miss Lula voice saying the prayer to start our day of fellowship. A lady of grace and love. Godspeed, Nannette Cole
