Celebration Of Life

Charles Edward Foster was born on February 12, 1932 in Selma, Louisiana, to the parents of Charlie Hayes and Ellen Grimble Foster. After leaving his birth place of Selma, he made Zwolle, Louisiana his home. The St John Baptist Church is where he confessed his faith in Jesus Christ, under the leadership of the late Rev. W.M. Garner. He was an active member for over 50 years.

He attended Joseph Samuel Clark School in Zwolle, Louisiana. After graduating he attended Southern University of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He served in the military branch of the United States Marines Corps. He then after became an influential and exciting Teacher at the Joseph Samuel Clark School of all subjects and then the Zwolle Intermediate School where he taught Mathematics. In each aspect of his life- He Taught.

He had a deep love for God and for helping people. He enjoyed planting and the collection of plants and trees. He loved Music and Singing. He also taught Sunday school, directed the children’s choir and served as Treasurer of his church. He also gave to many charities, both at the state and local level. He departed this journey from the Desoto Retirement and Rehab Center of Mansfield, Louisiana on March 25, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, the late Lillian L. Smith of Zwolle, Louisiana

He leaves to cherish his memories: his brothers, Henry Gray of Mansfield, Louisiana and Morris Foster, Sr. of Dallas, Texas. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends to cherish his many beautiful memories.
