Rosa Brown Eskridge Valentine was born December 1, 1925 in Montgomery County, MS. to Mr. John Ulysses. & Mary Lee Brown. On March 26, 2020, God sent the Angel of Death to carry our beloved Rosa Valentine to a land of everlasting love, joy and peace. A mother and homemaker, Rosa was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she loved to read her Bible and listen to gospel music on the radio. Rosa had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Andrew A.M.E. Church. Over the years, she had become very involved with the church and assisted with numerous events. Rosa was preceded by her loving husband Mr. Elijah Valentine. She was also predeceased by her five sons Robert Lee Eskridge, George Ulysses Eskridge Sr., Thomas Earl Eskridge, Earnest Charles Eskridge and James Edward Eskridge; two sisters, Birdia Mae Davis and Etta Mae Parker; Three brothers, Turner Brown, Q.P. Brown and Johnny C. Brown. Precious memories will remain in the hearts of her daughter-in-law, Bettye Eskridge, her grand-daughters Dana (Eric) Denson, Shauna (Erick) Eskridge-Bailey, and Tarolyn Eskridge and grand-sons Anthony Eskridge and George Ulysses Eskridge Jr. who cared for her. She also leaves eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday April 4, 2020 from 10 AM - 1:30 PM at R S Lewis & Sons Funeral Home 374 Vance Ave. Grave side service will follow at the Historic Elmwood Cemetery with the interment to follow. due to the cornavirus (COVID-19) we can only Allow 10 people at a time to view the remains.
