Obituary For Betty Carol Welch Wall

A home going celebration for Betty Carol Welch Wall, 60, will be held at a later time once the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions have been lifted. A private family service will be aired on Terry’s Mortuary’s Facebook page at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2020. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020 at Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions of love or condolences to Willie C. Evangelist Betty Carol Welch Wall began life’s journey on Monday, April 6, 1959, in Talladega, Alabama to Andrew Welch and Ruth Barclay Welch. In her early years, Betty began singing in the choir at Peace Missionary Baptist Church. During her families’ travels in the military, Betty attended New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Schweinfurt, Germany where she became a born again Christian in 1991. In 1994, when the family returned to the United States, God lead her to Zion Temple Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Noco Walls, Sr. and Evangelist Demorra Walls. Betty served as a Sunshine Band president, praise team leader, Sunday school teacher and was a member of the finance committee. She established and was an active participant of the sewing circle until her health began to decline.

Betty was a member of the 1977 graduating class of Talladega High School. She continued her education at Tuskegee Institute where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Clothing and Related Arts/Consumer Affairs and graduated from the R.O.T.C. program as a 2nd Lieutenant. Betty had a brief enlistment in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1982. Professionally, she was employed with Anniston High School, Oxford City Schools and worked in community service. On Friday, September 18, 1987, Betty and Willie C. Wall were united in holy matrimony and together they have four children.

On Thursday, April 2, 2020, Betty completed her life’s journey at Noland Hospital of Anniston. She was preceded in this life by her parents, Andrew and Ruth Welch; parents-in-love, Raymond and Barbara Wall; and one sister-in-law, Kimberly Wall.

Beautiful and cherished memories will linger in the hearts of her loving husband of 32 years, Willie C. Wall of Oxford, Alabama; two sons, Wayne M. Garrett, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama and Orlando (Bendrika) Bethea of College Park, Georgia; two daughters, Jamaka L. (Victor) Powell of Oxford, Alabama and Kamiriel (Tae) Wills of Biloxi, Mississippi; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Muriel (Wilbert) Bates of Hinesville, Georgia, Bonita (Henry) Fomby of Alpine, Alabama and Lisa (Bryant) Armbrester of Talladega, Alabama; three brothers, Donald Welch of Talladega, Alabama, Woody Welch of Dallas, Texas and Andre Welch of Clearwater, Florida; three uncles, Joe (Debbie) Welch of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gardner Welch and William Welch of Anderson, Indiana; five aunts, Catherine Nolan of Hartford, Connecticut and Willie Inez (Tommie)Wells of Talladega, Alabama, Betty Swain and Florence Gould of Anderson, Indiana and Sarah Williams of Hartford, Connecticut; six sisters-in-law, Princess Ann Bowens of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Margarette Ellerbe of Rockingham, North Carolina, Sonya (Brian) Ingram of Augusta, Georgia, Francine Wall of Rockingham, North Carolina, Katrina (Harold) Bennett of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Raven Wall of Rockingham, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Kevin (Florence) Wall of Hamlet, North Carolina and Frankie Wall of Rockingham, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
