A Letter to my dear, sweet Aunt Helen. You will forever hold a special place in my heart. As I sit here today my mind drifts back in time to a childhood filled with the warmth and love of a devoted family, and sitting at the head of the table was a strong woman (Gracie Walker), destined to leave us all with an unchallenged legacy of six strong women (sisters), and two strong men (brothers). On this day as I make peace within my heart to try to accept your passing, I cannot help but think of the others, Aunt Lila, who left us January 27, 2000. Aunt Lee, who left us January 3, 2012. Aunt Sue, who left us March 26, 1994. Aunt Bet, who left us October 22, 2017, my mother Edna, who left us October 31, 2006, Aunt Ellen, who left us, and now you, Aunt Helen. Although the pain is great and my eyes seem to stay filled with tears, I have learned to look to God for comfort and peace. I have learned to look to God for guidance and understanding. And I have learned to hang on to the many great memories you and the others have left us with. When I am missing each of you I find solace in knowing that all I have to do is think of the good times we shared and I smile. My heart is filled with pride and a feeling of strength from all of the great teachings and life lessons all of you left us with. You, Aunt Helen was a one of a kind Aunt. No one will ever be able to replace your uniqueness. Your kindness and sense of humor is and always will be untouchable. I will forever love you and remember you for who you are and were. What you meant to me. And for just being the wonderful, beautiful, warm and caring Aunt anyone would be proud to have known or had in their life. Words cannot express how lucky I feel to have had you for an Aunt. The memories....the memories...the memories....Oh how sweet they are and will be. I thank God that you were, and always will have a special place in my heart. I love you Aunt Helen. I will miss you so much. Rest in Peace. Rest in Heaven. God Bless You. Lil'Baby.
