I was a teammate of Leon's at Valdosta State. Leon was a great teammate and good friend. He was competitive and a phenomenal athlete. Although we did not stay in touch over the years I thought of him often. He most definitely influenced my life in a positive way. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers for his family. Rest In Peace friend!

My brother... I have enough fond memories to fill a lifetime thanks to you. I don't even know where to start. Your spirit, big heart, overflowing compassion will live with me forever. I remember those nights waaaaaaay back when...when we worked together in Baker Hill. We'd be in the office for what seemed like forever wrapping up. I don't know which one of us nodded off more...me or you lol. We had each other's backs like we'd known each other since birth. I never thought I'd ever meet another person that I could call a womb-to-tomb friend that I hadn't known since grade school...but you made me reconsider that notion. My brother, you'll be missed. Truly, my womb to tomb brother. Much love, rest on warrior!!!!!!!!!!!!

My college days would not have been the same without Leon.He lived every day to the fullest with a smile on his face, love in his heart, and a persistent determination to succeed-regardless of any setbacks he faced. Through many of Leon's stories, I came to learn that his greatest joy in life was not only basketball, but his unconditional love for family. In so many conversations, he expressed his gratitude for having a family that was always there for him and never gave up on him. This is the same love that Leon gave back to so many others, especially his children. He treasured his children and every moment he got to spend with them. He lived a life of love, not by words, but by his actions. As you process through this difficult time, I pray that you find comfort in remembering how much of a blessing Leon was to be around. May memories of him and the love of family surround you and give you strength in the coming days. With prayers and sympathy, Candace
