Obituary For Roosevelt Ellis Durant, Jr.

Olanta, SC Roosevelt Ellis Durant, Jr., 32, died Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was born November 23, 1987, a son of the late Roosevelt Ellis Durant, Sr. and Nell Green Durant. He was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta D. Durant.

He attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Crestwood High School, Class of 2006.

In his youth, he attended St. John United Methodist Church, Lynchburg, SC.

He was employed with Southeast Express in Timmonsville, SC as a fork-lift operator.

"Beans" was loving, kindhearted and brought life to any gathering.

On Sunday morning, April 12, 2020, Roosevelt Ellis Durant, Jr. was called home by his Heavenly Father.

His memories will be cherished by his only daughter, Brooklyn R. Gordon, Sumter, SC; a nephew, Tyquise Lee, Sumter, SC; three brothers: Charles (LaToya) Durant, Marcus Hogan and Michael Green; a special cousin, Sharnell Durant; three aunts: Annie R. Sowers, Florence, SC, Claire M. Burgess, Lake City, SC and Mary A. Burgess, Timmonsville, SC; one uncle, Jason (Carrie Dell) Green, Olanta, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Mr. Durant will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2020 at St. John United Methodist Church, 4640 Narrow Paved Road, Lynchburg, SC. Rev. Gracie Singletary, Pastor, officiating.
