MR. GARY A. WILKINS, SR., son of the late Percey and Pauline Cousin Wilkins was born September 28, 1959 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life suddenly at his residence, April, 16, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his siblings- Albert and Herbert Wilkins, Lillie Mae Brown, Sylvia McClain, and Marie Brown.

At an early age he was baptized and joined Holly Grove Baptist Church, Bracey, VA. He attended Mecklenburg and Brunswick County Public Schools.

“Tom” as he was affectionately called was married to Belinda Hendrick and to this union three children were born- Camille, Gary Jr. and Tonika. Tonika Danielle “TeeTah” preceded him in death on January 5, 2020. He was employed by C.F. Sauers Company, Richmond, VA for many years, Seaboard Bagging Company and lastly, as a Carpenter until his health failed.

In his spare time Gary loved to go fishing and hunting. He loved to make people laugh, especially if you were having a bad day. His passion was cooking, in which he loved and enjoyed doing. He could really cook! Gary leaves to cherish his memories are: his children- Camille R. (Kelvin) Blackwell, Brodnax, VA and Gary Wilkins, Jr., Richmond, VA; 11 grandchildren; 3 sisters- Jeanette (Troy) Wilkins, Richmond, VA, Cassandra Wilkins (Willie), Gasburg, VA, and Catherine Wilkins, LaCrosse, VA; 3 brothers- Jesse Wilkins and Percey L. Wilkins, both of Richmond, VA and Alvis Wilkins, LaCrosse, VA; devoted niece- Tria Brown, Richmond, VA; special friends- David Mills, “Big Willie” Shaw, Jim Brown, Jerry Powell “Slow Motion”, Larry Harris “Fat Larry” and Benny Winn, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
